A Note About Sunlight Exposure:

Don’t forget to take environmental conditions, such as sunlight exposure, into account. If you’re not sure if sunlight is what caused a hemlock’s good health compared to those surrounding it, submit as a Lingering Hemlock in TreeSnap with something in the ‘Comments’ section explaining the potential sunlight variable.

Where to look for a Lingering Hemlock:

Is there a stand of hemlocks on a land that you manage that is, as far as you know, dead? Areas where there are tons of standing dead hemlocks that you catch notice of it? Look carefully! There may be a Lingering Hemlock hanging on amongst the dead.
